Questions people ask

It depends on your profits, how you want to take money out, and how you feel about the extra admin. A limited company can save tax at higher profits but comes with more filing duties. We'll compare both for you.

Is a limited company right for you?

A limited company is a separate legal entity. It can protect your personal assets, and at higher profit levels it can be more tax-efficient than being a sole trader. But it also brings more admin: annual accounts, a confirmation statement, corporation tax returns and usually payroll.

We'll start with an honest conversation about your plans and run the numbers both ways. If staying a sole trader makes more sense, we'll tell you.

Registering the company

We prepare and file your incorporation with Companies House: company name, registered office, directors, shareholders, share structure, people with significant control and the business activity codes. Directors and people with significant control now need to verify their identity with Companies House — we'll guide you through it.

Getting set up with HMRC

Once the company exists, we register it for corporation tax. If you'll pay yourself or staff a salary, we set up PAYE. If your turnover will be over the VAT threshold, or voluntary registration makes sense, we register you for VAT and set up MTD-compatible software from day one.

Starting on the right foot

We'll help you open a business bank account, set up bookkeeping software connected to it, and explain how to take money out of the company properly. Then we put your first deadlines in the diary — so nothing comes as a surprise.
